Role Summary

We are recruiting for an Administrator to join our small team based in our specialist Royal College in this newly created role.This is a busy office environment at our site at Cheadle Hulme, near Handforth.

The role will support the Lead Administrator to provide effective and efficient administration processes for Royal College Manchester and this will include the following as well as other duties:

  • Handling general enquiries over the phone and in person from staff, parents and other parties

  • Updating databases with weekly/monthly information

  • Raising purchase orders and maintaining stationery supplies

  • Producing a wide range of correspondence and reports

  • General office duties such as photocopying, electronic filing

  • Collecting and delivering post for the department

This is a permanent position with full time hours on a term time only basis (39 weeks per year).The hours are Monday to Friday between 8.30am – 4.30pm.As this is a term time only position, holidays are required to be taken during school holiday periods.

Requirements

  • Strong administration experience

  • GCSE English and Mathematics (grade A-C) or equivalent

  • Committed to improving knowledge and skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent IT skills – Microsoft Office packages including Outlook, Excel and Word

  • Excellent organisation skills

  • Ability to contribute, work as a member of a wider team but also able to work using own initiative

  • To be able to communicate effectively with parents and other professionals

  • Flexibility/adaptability in handling a large number of different tasks

  • Confidential and flexible approach to work

  • Ability to work alongside College ‘buddy’ dogs
